Foon Hops

This building was constructed in 1915. Originally it was a meat, fish, poultry, produce and general grocery store. The store also made and sold specialty items, such as bean cake (tofu) and Chinese deli. The store was owned and operated by Foon Hop himself and his family. It stayed as a grocery store for 20 years.

The store now is operated as a gift shop featuring antiques and collectables. The upstairs rooms are now rented as guest rooms to artists and holiday makers to study and enjoy the company of other artists and guests. Please call for guest rooms information at (916)776-1406.
